I believe that baby photography is one of the most rewarding ways to capture the memories of little ones, and to preserve them for years to come. Here are some expert tips to help you get the most of your baby photo shoot.
1. Sleep. Make sure that you set the shoot time after baby has had a good rest. This is very important as a rested baby will be able to handle to photo shoot much better than a tired baby, and will allow for amazing pictures
2. Feed Baby. Feed the little one before the shoot, this will allow them to be at their best. A hungry baby won't smile as much as you would like them to smile.
3. Toys. Have lots of his or her favourite toys handy. This will help to keep them entertained towards the end of the shoot. Baby photographers can only really take candid photos as our little models haven't yet learned to pose for photos
4. Clothes. Have a couple of easy to change outfits ready. Variety is the spice of life. At least just two or three easy to change outfits make for very interesting pictures.
5. Heater. If you are taking photos in winter or in a place, home, studio that is cold then remember to warm up the room first or have a heater handy.
6. Match. Of course you would like to take photos with your little one. A nice idea would be to have you both in matching outfits, i.e. both of you can wear white tops or have matching jeans.
7. Lighting. Great photos will always come out better with light. Natural lighting is the best, however you may also use soft box light or any form light such as window or skylights.
8. Smile. Be yourself, be comfortable and have a good time. You little one will feel comfortable and then you will be able to take the most amazing shots.
